CONSUMER ADVOCACY AND CIVIL TRIAL EXPERIENCE
Robert Churchill is an experienced consumer and small business advocate with considerable experience in Florida County Courts. Since starting his law practice in 2006, Robert’s legal practice has focused on consumer advocacy and civil litigation, with Robert serving as the primary civil litigation attorney in over 3000 contested lawsuits and 50 trials.
While he is admitted to the Bars of Florida, Georgia, and Texas, Robert’s primary focus, his main office, and his home, are in Leon County, Florida. He has administrative and executive experience in his role as the owner of an expanding regional law firm operating in Florida and Georgia.
Robert has an extensive background in civil cases involving claims for money damages, injunctive relief, declaratory judgment, and small claims courts.
Robert's litigation experience encompasses contractual liability, unfair debt collections, debt settlement negotiation, debt lawsuit defense, post-judgment garnishment, attachment, landlord-tenant relationships, housing disputes, bankruptcy protection, and consumer claims involving unfair or deceptive business practices. He has litigated claims and defenses under Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, False Advertising Act, Landlord-Tenant Act, Fair Debt/Consumer Collection Practices Act, Motor Vehicle Repair Act, and Truth in Lending Act.
FOCUSED QUALIFICATIONS FOR COUNTY JUDGE
Mr. Churchill has been vetted and nominated by the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Second Judicial Circuit on four separate occasions, most recently in August, 2023. He served for 6 years on the Florida Small Claims Rules Committee. He has taught other attorneys and paralegals in Florida Bar- accredited CLEs (continuing legal education) in four separate courses on defending consumer collection matters and landlord-tenant law.

Robert Churchill has owned and operated a small business in Tallahassee for over 17 years, combining the work of legal advocacy and client management with that of running a business. His legal practice is marked by a commitment to client / customer service and satisfaction, reflected by over 100 5-star Google reviews.
PRO BONO COMMITMENT
An advocate for pro bono work and community involvement, Robert received the Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Legal Service Award for the Second Judicial Circuit in January 2020. This award recognizes lawyers “who have freely given their time and expertise in ensuring access to justice for those who otherwise could not afford it.” (Floridabar.org). He subsequently served on the Pro Bono Service Award Committee for the Second Judicial Circuit. Robert dedicates over 100 hours per year to pro bono consultation and representation, emphasizing his commitment to giving back to the community.
In addition to his pro bono work, Robert serves as a Florida-Bar Accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Instructor, sharing his knowledge on the Basics of Debt Collection in Litigation, Post-Judgment Remedies, and Basics of Landlord-Tenant Law. As an on-call attorney mentor for Florida Legal Aid volunteer attorneys, he provides guidance in collection, garnishment, and landlord-tenant/housing matters through Legal Services of North Florida.
COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT AND FAMILY
Robert is also involved in the community in non-legal matters. He served as a volunteer City of Tallahassee youth soccer coach (known there as “coach Rob”) for various ages (5-12 year-olds) for over 10 years, most recently in 2020.
Robert has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 24 years. They are proud parents to four daughters (Alyson, Megan, Paige and Sarah).
